December Blog

A holly, jolly December in LTA! We started the month with a visit from our Frankie Friends and Bogie the dog. In math we finished up our unit on shapes and sorting. In reading, we read about the gift of giving and identified key details on how we can give to others (smile, elbow bump, donating, cards, etc). We also practiced sounding out CVC words and identifying rhyming words. In social studies we learned about holidays around the world and various holiday traditions. Our pretend play center had different holiday traditions for students to practice (tree decorating, cookie baking, sending cards, etc). In writing students wrote about a holiday tradition they do and a way that they want to give to others. Students practiced identifying that our sentences begin with a capital letter and end with a period. We ended December together with pajama day and a movie - so fun! We are wishing everyone a happy holidays and joyous new year! See you all on January 3rd!
