March in LTA This month, we learned about earth materials (rocks, soil, clay, etc.) and the weather through our pretend play center and science unit. In pretend play, students dressed up as dinosaurs and paleontologists. They used kinetic sand to create dinosaur bones. They chiseled away at earth materials to find dinosaur fossils. February Recap

February in LTA Throughout the month of February, we have been busy! We celebrated Valentine's Day, the 100th day of school, James' birthday, and took a trip to the science museum! In math, we have been learning about addition with our "friends": Gus the Plus and Ellie the Equal. In ELA, we have been learning new sight words, practicing beginning sounds in words, and blending together CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. We read stories about community helpers and symbols in America as we learned about history. In pretend play, we had a post office where students practiced sending out letters, sorting and counting boxes, and buying/counting out stamps. In March, we are entering the world of dinosaurs in pretend play where we will explore various earth materials! In ELA we will be reading stories about the earth, weather, and seasons. In math, we will be meeting Linus the Minus as we begin our unit on subtraction.
